Land Clearing in Tampa, FL

Land Clearing · Tampa, FL

We clear the lot to bare ground and haul the debris off

Land clearing is one of the main services we run across Tampa. Most lots here fight back. Palmetto root balls sit deep. Brazilian pepper grows back from a cut stump. Underbrush fills in fast because Florida never really stops growing. Our crews take a lot down to bare ground with excavators and skid steers. Trees come out with the root ball when you want the ground clean. Everything we cut gets loaded into our own dump trucks and hauled off. Builders call us before a foundation goes in. Homeowners call us when a back lot gets away from them.

Construction Site Development is a family business. Two brothers run it, Daniel and Pedro Gonzalez. They carry on work their family has done in construction for years. The LLC was formed in 2018. We are based in the Citrus Park area of Tampa, in northwest Hillsborough County. Daniel is out on job sites himself, and some days he drives the dump truck. We run our own excavators, skid steers, a wheel loader, and a backhoe. Our dump trucks run under USDOT 3805736, so the hauling stays in house. We take land clearing jobs across Pinellas and Pasco counties as well.

What a land clearing job looks like

Every land clearing job starts with a look at the lot in person. We mark what stays: the trees you keep, the fence lines, the property corners, and any well or septic lid. We call 811 for utility locates before any digging starts. That service is free and Florida law requires it. The call goes in early, because locates take a few days. Then we pick equipment by access. An open acre takes a full size excavator. A narrow infill lot takes a skid steer and a compact machine that fits through a gate.

Brush clearing comes first. Underbrush and small growth go out, which opens sight lines and lets the machines move. Trees come down next. Stumps get pulled with the root ball when the ground has to stay clean for a foundation. Brazilian pepper needs the roots out, because a cut stump sends up new shoots within weeks. Everything we cut gets loaded and hauled off the lot in our dump trucks. We rake the ground down at the end so you can see what you actually own.

What does land clearing cost in Tampa?

Land clearing gets priced by the lot, so we look at a few things. Size is the first one, whether that is a quarter acre infill lot or five acres of raw land. Then density. Light brush over open ground moves fast. A wall of pepper trees and palmetto slows everything down. Tree count and trunk size matter, along with whether stumps come out or stay. Access matters just as much. If a truck and an excavator cannot get through the gate, the job takes longer.

Two more things move the number. The first is haul off volume, because cleared vegetation has to leave the lot and the disposal run costs time. The second is what you want the ground to look like when we finish. Rough cleared is one job, and cleared plus leveled for a build is another. Wet ground after a summer rain can slow a lot down too. Estimates are free. Call us at (813) 453-5883 with the address and a rough idea of what is out there. We will come look.

Infill lots and raw land around Tampa Bay

A lot of our land clearing work is infill. Someone buys an older house on a good street. The house comes down, and the lot has to be clean before a new build starts. Those lots sit close to homes on both sides. We bring compact equipment and keep dust and traffic down. Driveways and mailboxes stay where they are. The other half of the work is raw land. Nobody has touched the growth in years, and the palmetto is chest high.

We work out of Citrus Park, which puts most of Hillsborough County inside a short drive. We clear lots in Lutz, Brandon, Fish Hawk, and Wesley Chapel. We also cross into Pinellas and Pasco counties. Hillsborough County requires a permit to remove most trees, and grand oaks have their own rules. Check with the county before you plan a removal. Once a lot is clear, most people need the next step. We handle excavation, land grading, fill dirt delivery, and site preparation for the build.

FAQ

Land Clearing Questions, Answered

Common questions about land clearing across Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties. Don't see yours? Give us a call and ask.

Call (813) 453-5883

How long does land clearing take?
Most residential lots clear in one to three days. A quarter acre infill lot with light brush often finishes in a day. Heavy growth and big trees add time, and so does a long haul to the disposal site. Stump removal adds a day on some lots. We give you a day count with the estimate.
What happens to the brush and trees you clear?
It leaves the lot in our own dump trucks. We load cleared vegetation and stumps as we go, then run loads to a disposal site. Haul off is part of the land clearing job, so the lot is empty when we pull out. Larger jobs take more truck runs.
Do you clear small lots and hard to reach properties?
Yes. We size the equipment to the lot. A narrow infill lot gets a skid steer instead of a full size excavator. Gate width, driveway room, overhead power lines, and slope all change the approach. Tell us what the access looks like and we will plan around it.
What do land clearing contractors base the price on?
Lot size and how thick the growth is drive most of it. Tree count and trunk size come next. Stump removal and the number of truck loads both add to the job. Access and ground conditions move the number as well. We price each lot after we come see it.
What makes land clearing in Hillsborough County different?
The growth here never really stops, so lots fill back in year round. Palmetto root balls sit deep and take real machine time. Brazilian pepper comes back fast from a cut stump. Summer rain softens the ground and slows heavy equipment. Tree removal permits also run through the county.

Excavation in Tampa, FL

Excavation

We are an excavation contractor in Tampa, FL. Our excavators dig foundation pits, pool holes, drainage lines, and utility trenches on residential lots. Tampa Bay sand and a high water table change how a hole is cut, and we plan for both.

Grading & Leveling in Tampa, FL

Grading & Leveling

We do land grading on residential lots across Tampa Bay. Our excavators and skid steers cut the high spots and fill the low ones. The finished slope carries storm water away from your foundation and out to the street or a swale.

Site Preparation in Tampa, FL

Site Preparation

We take a raw lot to a build-ready pad. That covers stripping topsoil, cut and fill, stem wall backfill, and compaction in lifts. Your pad ends up at plan elevation, ready for the engineer to test and the slab crew to start.

French Drains & Drainage in Tampa, FL

French Drains & Drainage

Standing water in the yard and water against the slab call for the same fix. We dig a gravel trench with perforated pipe in the bottom. The line slopes to a discharge point away from the house. Catch basins and downspout tie-ins handle the water where it starts.

Fill Dirt & Hauling in Tampa, FL

Fill Dirt & Hauling

We deliver fill dirt across Tampa Bay in our own dump trucks. Most dirt pits drop the load and leave. We bring the machine too, so the fill gets spread and packed down where you want it.

Concrete Removal in Tampa, FL

Concrete Removal

We break out old driveways, patios, pool decks and slabs across Tampa Bay. Our own dump trucks haul the broken concrete off the property. The breakout and the disposal happen on the same job. Free estimates before any work starts.

Why Choose Construction Site Development

Why Tampa Bay Property Owners Call CSD

A Family Legacy in Construction

Two brothers, Daniel and Pedro Gonzalez, run the company and carry on their family's work in the construction field. Daniel is on the job sites himself. The people who price your job are the people who do it.

The Hauling Is Ours

Our own dump trucks run under USDOT 3805736, and our own excavators and skid steers do the loading. Debris leaves on our schedule, not a bin company's. The teardown and the haul-off are one job and one price.

One Company, Whole Site

Demolition, clearing, excavation, grading, fill and the pad, handled by the same team in one sequence. No waiting on a second sub to show up. The lot moves from standing house to build-ready ground without a handoff.

Tampa Bay Is Home

We run out of the Citrus Park area of Tampa and work Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties every week. Short runs mean machines show up when we said they would. Call and you get Daniel or Pedro, not a call center.
