House Demolition
We tear down houses, garages and outbuildings across Tampa Bay. The slab and footers come out and the debris leaves on our own dump trucks. The ground gets graded flat for whatever comes next.

Demolition in Zephyrhills starts with one question: is the lot inside the city? Zephyrhills is an incorporated city in Pasco County, with its own building department. The 2020 census counted 17,194 people on its 9.5 square miles of land. The town began as Abbott in 1888. In 1909, Captain Howard B. Jeffries, a Union veteran of the Civil War, bought 35,000 acres. He planned a colony for Civil War veterans, and the town voted to take the Zephyrhills name in 1910. For an owner ready to rebuild, tearing down an older Zephyrhills house opens the lot for a new plan.
The name comes from the ground itself, since Zephyrhills is known for its rolling hills. The city sits about 95 feet above sea level. In 1980 the city had 5,742 people, about a third of its 2020 count. US 301, called Gall Boulevard in town, is the main road through Zephyrhills from north to south. State Road 54 crosses southern Pasco east and west and ends at US 301 in Zephyrhills. State Road 56 reaches US 301 south of the city. More people means more homesites to clear and grade. Our excavators and skid steers handle clearing a wooded Zephyrhills homesite before any building starts.

Inside city limits, the City of Zephyrhills Building Department issues residential permits. Its permit application has a demolish box, next to block, frame and steel. New construction needs a property survey, plus stormwater plans with silt fence installed on site. A permit goes invalid if work does not start within six months of issue. Trees are a Planning Department matter. The city requires a permit to remove trees on non-residential property. For a new home on a vacant lot, Planning verifies the zoning and use first. Many vacant lots sit in the CRA and historic districts, which have their own design standards.
Outside the city line, different rules apply. The Census lists Zephyrhills North, Zephyrhills South and Zephyrhills West as their own places. Those census places sit outside the city, on Pasco County land. County Road 579 runs through the western edge of the city. Chancey Road runs along the southern and eastern edge. On county land, Pasco requires cup for cup compensatory storage for fill in the floodplain. Inside the city, fill is barred from Flood Zone V unless expressly permitted. When the plans check out, our own dump trucks bring fill dirt to raise a Zephyrhills pad.
Water shapes the land around Zephyrhills, even with the hills. The Hillsborough River arises in the Green Swamp, near where Hillsborough, Pasco and Polk counties meet. It flows 60 miles to an outlet in Tampa on Hillsborough Bay. On the way it passes Crystal Springs, about 4 miles south of town. Hillsborough River State Park sits on the same river. The city permit form names the Southwest Florida Water Management District for wetlands and cypress bayheads. On a parcel near low, wet ground, that review comes before any clearing starts.
Rolling ground means the fall of a lot matters. Our excavators clear brush and pull roots so the soil can be compacted. Then grading that works with the rolling ground sets a slope that moves rain off the pad. Inside the city, a lot under one acre raised with fill needs an engineered drainage plan. In Flood Zone A, a Florida licensed professional engineer prepares a plan for compensating volume. For a stem wall home in Flood Zone A, fill goes only inside the stem wall. The owner can be cited if fill harms adjacent properties. Everything we pull out leaves the lot on our own dump trucks.

We are an excavation contractor in Tampa, FL. Our excavators dig foundation pits, pool holes, drainage lines, and utility trenches on residential lots. Tampa Bay sand and a high water table change how a hole is cut, and we plan for both.

We do land grading on residential lots across Tampa Bay. Our excavators and skid steers cut the high spots and fill the low ones. The finished slope carries storm water away from your foundation and out to the street or a swale.

We take a raw lot to a build-ready pad. That covers stripping topsoil, cut and fill, stem wall backfill, and compaction in lifts. Your pad ends up at plan elevation, ready for the engineer to test and the slab crew to start.

We take a raw or teardown lot to a site your builder can start on. Clearing, digging, cut and fill, drainage and final grade run on one schedule. Our own dump trucks haul the dirt.

Standing water in the yard and water against the slab call for the same fix. We dig a gravel trench with perforated pipe in the bottom. The line slopes to a discharge point away from the house. Catch basins and downspout tie-ins handle the water where it starts.

We set new driveway culverts and replace crushed or rusted pipes. Where the permit allows it, we pipe an open roadside ditch and grade over it. Our own dump trucks haul the old pipe and spoil away and bring fill in.
